Dr Zulaiha Muda

Dr Zulaiha Muda is a Consultant Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist, National Head of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Services Malaysia and Head of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Unit at Tunku Azizah Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr Muda obtained her medical degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and subsequently her Master of Medicine in Pediatrics from Universiti Sains Malaysia. This was later followed by training as a fellow in pediatric oncology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, NSW, Australia. She did further training in hemophilia comprehensive care at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK, after which she started to work in hemophilia services in Tunku Azizah Hospital in 2012.

She was an expert committee member for the Malaysian Health Technology Assessment Section for Thalassaemia 2004 and Haemophilia 2015. She is a Chair of the National Haemophilia Clinical Practice Guidelines, the technical division for the National Haemophilia Programme, the Malaysian Thalassaemia Registry and the reviewer committee for Revision of Thalassaemia clinical Practice guides. She is an editorial board member for the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Journal of Quality Improvement, an expert member of the Hospital Kuala Lumpur Research and Review Committee, a member of the National Haematology Oncology Drug Committee, a member of the National Rare Disease Committee and a team leader in the development of patient blood management clinical practice guidelines (pediatric chapter). She is actively involved in both investigator-sponsored research and investigator-initiated research.
